1 Overview and Purpose

This Call Recording & Consent Policy applies to all telephone calls made to or received from FixMyTVStream.us, including calls to our main support helpline at (888) 504-0840.

We take your privacy and legal rights seriously. This policy explains how we handle call recording, what laws we comply with, how we obtain your consent, and what rights you have in relation to any recordings of your calls.

This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, all of which govern the use of our services.

2 What We Record

When calls are recorded, the following information may be captured:

We do not record calls in circumstances where recording is prohibited by applicable law and consent has not been obtained. We do not record calls for the purpose of capturing payment card information โ€” our payment process is handled through a secure, PCI-compliant system that is segregated from recorded calls.

Payment Security: If you are asked to provide payment card details during a call, our call recording system is paused or the information is handled through a secure keypad system that does not capture audio of card numbers, CVVs, or PINs. Our staff are trained never to ask you to verbally read out your full card number.

3 Why We Record Calls

Call recordings serve several important, legitimate purposes:

3.1 Quality Assurance

Recordings allow our management team to monitor the quality of support provided by our specialists, ensuring that our high standards of service are consistently maintained across all interactions.

3.2 Staff Training and Development

Recordings are used as training material to coach our specialists and improve the level of support provided to all customers.

3.3 Verification of Instructions

Recordings provide an accurate record of the guidance given during a support session. This protects both the customer and our business by providing a clear reference to what was discussed, agreed upon, and actioned during the call.

3.4 Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute about what was communicated during a support session โ€” including disputes about fees, the service provided, or the advice given โ€” recordings serve as an objective record that can be reviewed to reach a fair resolution.

3.5 Legal Compliance and Evidence

Recordings may be retained and produced in response to lawful requests from regulatory authorities, law enforcement, or courts of law where required or permitted by applicable legislation.

3.6 Customer Protection

Recordings protect customers by providing a verifiable record that no unauthorised commitments were made and that all charges were agreed upon before services commenced.

4 How We Notify You

We notify callers that their call may be recorded in the following ways:

We believe that providing multiple layers of notice is the fairest and most transparent approach for our customers.

5 Your Consent

Under applicable US federal and state law, consent to call recording must be obtained from the required parties before recording commences. We obtain consent as follows:

Your right to withdraw consent: You may withdraw your consent to recording at any point during a call by informing our specialist. We will stop recording immediately and note your preference. Your ability to receive support will not be affected by declining recording, though we may note that the call is unrecorded on your support file.

Note: State laws are subject to change. This table reflects our understanding of the law as of August 2025. We recommend consulting a legal professional for state-specific legal advice.

7 All-Party Consent States โ€” Important Notice

If you are calling from one of the all-party consent states listed in Section 6 (including California, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and others), the following applies:

California Residents โ€” Penal Code ยง632: Under California law (Penal Code Section 632), it is unlawful to record a confidential telephone call without the consent of all parties. We fully comply with this law. California residents will always be asked for explicit consent before any recording commences. Recording will only proceed if you provide clear consent.

8 Federal Law Compliance (ECPA)

Our call recording practices comply with the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) of 1986, specifically Title I (the Wiretap Act), which governs the interception of wire and oral communications.

Under the ECPA, it is lawful to record a telephone conversation with the consent of at least one party to the call. Since FixMyTVStream.us is always a party to the calls it records, and our representatives are aware of and consent to the recording, federal law requirements are satisfied for one-party consent states.

For all-party consent states, we go beyond the minimum federal requirement by seeking explicit consent from all parties, as required by applicable state law.

We do not intercept, monitor, or record calls for any purpose other than those described in this policy, and we do not sell or share call recordings for commercial purposes unrelated to our services.

9 How Recordings Are Stored and Protected

We take the security of call recordings seriously. All recordings are protected by the following measures:

10 How Long We Retain Recordings

Call recordings are retained for a standard period of 90 days from the date of the call. After this period, recordings are securely and permanently deleted from our systems, unless:

In all cases, recordings are deleted as soon as they are no longer required for their stated purpose.

11 Who Can Access Recordings

Access to call recordings is strictly controlled. The following categories of personnel may access recordings:

All personnel with access to call recordings are bound by confidentiality obligations and data protection training requirements. Recordings are never shared with third parties for marketing, commercial, or any other purposes, except as required by law.

12 Your Rights Regarding Recordings

In accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law, you have the following rights in relation to call recordings involving you:

12.1 Right to Know

You have the right to ask whether a particular call with our service was recorded.

12.2 Right to Access

You may request access to a recording of a call in which you participated. We will review such requests and respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before providing access.

12.3 Right to Deletion

You may request that a recording involving you be deleted, subject to our legal obligations and any active dispute or compliance requirements. Where deletion is not possible due to legal obligations, we will inform you of the reason.

12.4 Right to Object

You have the right to object to call recording at the beginning of any call. If you object, we will not record that call (subject to any overriding legal obligation). Your right to receive support is not conditional on consenting to recording.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@fixmytvstream.us or call (888) 504-0840.

13 Opting Out of Call Recording

You can opt out of call recording at any time:

Opting out of recording does not affect your right to receive our support services, and you will not be treated any differently as a result of declining recording.

14 Use of Recordings in Disputes

If a dispute arises between you and FixMyTVStream.us regarding a support session โ€” including disputes about what was said, agreed upon, or charged โ€” the call recording of that session may be used as evidence in the dispute resolution process.

This works in the interest of both parties:

Recordings may also be provided to card issuers, payment processors, arbitrators, or courts of law in response to chargeback disputes or legal proceedings, where lawfully required or permitted.

We will always seek to resolve disputes informally before resorting to the use of recordings. Please contact us at support@fixmytvstream.us or (888) 504-0840 in the first instance.

15 Independent Service Reminder

FixMyTVStream.us is an independent third-party technical support service. We are NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Paramount+, Paramount Global, Amazon, Amazon Firestick, Fire TV, Roku, or any other streaming platform or device manufacturer.

Call recordings captured on our helpline are the property of FixMyTVStream.us and are used solely for the purposes described in this policy. They are not shared with, transmitted to, or accessible by any streaming platform or device manufacturer.
